About Us Media Pack 2025 Middle East Women in AAM 10 September 2026 Thomas Sleightholm Archer Aviation and BETA Technologies are planning to expand interoperable electric aircraft charging infrastructure in Texas to support air taxi operations under the state’s participation in the White House eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). The companies are working through the America’s Consortium for Electric Skyways (ACES), a group launched by Archer, BETA and Macquarie Capital. The consortium plans to work with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to identify locations where eVTOL operators are expected to fly under the programme and determine where charging facilities will be required. Potential locations include airports, fixed-base operators and other points of interest. The aim is to establish a shared charging network that can be used by aircraft from multiple manufacturers and operators rather than relying on proprietary infrastructure. TxDOT was selected for the eIPP in March 2026 and has outlined plans for regional test flights connecting Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston, as well as routes linking those metropolitan areas with rural communities. ACES said its broader objective is to electrify as many as 250 air taxi sites across major US airports and metropolitan areas over the next decade. Texas will provide an opportunity to test the shared infrastructure model alongside planned aircraft operations. Archer and BETA are among several companies expected to conduct all-electric aircraft flights in Texas in the coming months. The charging network will therefore need to accommodate different aircraft and operational requirements as the programme develops.
