About Us Media Pack 2025 Middle East Women in AAM 10 September 2026 Thomas Sleightholm Archer Avi­a­tion and BETA Tech­nolo­gies are plan­ning to expand inter­op­er­a­ble elec­tric air­craft charg­ing infra­struc­ture in Texas to sup­port air taxi oper­a­tions under the state’s par­tic­i­pa­tion in the White House eVTOL Inte­gra­tion Pilot Pro­gram (eIPP). The com­pa­nies are work­ing through the America’s Con­sor­tium for Elec­tric Sky­ways (ACES), a group launched by Archer, BETA and Mac­quar­ie Cap­i­tal. The con­sor­tium plans to work with the Texas Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion (TxDOT) to iden­ti­fy loca­tions where eVTOL oper­a­tors are expect­ed to fly under the pro­gramme and deter­mine where charg­ing facil­i­ties will be required. Poten­tial loca­tions include air­ports, fixed-base oper­a­tors and oth­er points of inter­est. The aim is to estab­lish a shared charg­ing net­work that can be used by air­craft from mul­ti­ple man­u­fac­tur­ers and oper­a­tors rather than rely­ing on pro­pri­etary infra­struc­ture. TxDOT was select­ed for the eIPP in March 2026 and has out­lined plans for region­al test flights con­nect­ing Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Anto­nio and Hous­ton, as well as routes link­ing those met­ro­pol­i­tan areas with rur­al com­mu­ni­ties. ACES said its broad­er objec­tive is to elec­tri­fy as many as 250 air taxi sites across major US air­ports and met­ro­pol­i­tan areas over the next decade. Texas will pro­vide an oppor­tu­ni­ty to test the shared infra­struc­ture mod­el along­side planned air­craft oper­a­tions. Archer and BETA are among sev­er­al com­pa­nies expect­ed to con­duct all-elec­tric air­craft flights in Texas in the com­ing months. The charg­ing net­work will there­fore need to accom­mo­date dif­fer­ent air­craft and oper­a­tional require­ments as the pro­gramme devel­ops.
