Alerion is a compact 4D imaging radar that is designed to detect and track drone threats including FPV, mini, autonomous and fibre-optic drones. Arbe says the system has been successfully field-tested for defence applications and is currently being evaluated by C-UAS integrators. “The Alerion ultra-high-resolution radar can detect the drone itself rather than its emissions, so it holds the track however the drone is controlled,” the company said in a 14 September press release. “Drone threats have become one of the most urgent security challenges worldwide, and detection of small drones is a current weakness where defenders are highly exposed,” said Ram Machness, CEO of Arbe. “Alerion brings the highly detailed sensing capabilities Arbe has spent years developing for automotive – resolving small objects in dense clutter – to counter-drone defense in a compact platform designed for broad deployment. This opens a significant new market for Arbe.” Alerion is designed as a layer within multi-sensor C-UAS architectures, holding the track continuously from first detection to minimum range. It has been designed to separate drones from birds, vehicles, buildings and vegetation. The guide is the world’s only comprehensive, continually updated directory of global C-UAS companies and systems. It itemises over 1,000 C-UAS products and services with performance details, company sales and partnerships arrangements. It is updated every month and broken down into niche sub-sectors (net-capture, missiles, intercept drones, detectors etc) to give C-UAS procurement and industry personnel a unique perspective of global C-UAS technical capabilities and market positions. It is available in word, PDF and excel formats and Unmanned Airspace readers are eligible for a range of discounts.
